Our Surf Camp in Tamraght!
Tamraght is a small Berber fishing village situated on a hill overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, approximately 14 km north of Agadir, 40 minutes north of Agadir Airport, and 3 km from the better-known village of Taghazout.
This traditional fishing community has developed over the years and has become popular with surfers, backpackers, yogis, and Europeans seeking a sunny second home. With over 300 days of sunshine a year and daytime temperatures averaging between 20°C and 29°C, Tamraght is perfect for a surfing holiday.
How to Get to the Surf Camp?
Agadir is served by direct flights (2-3 hours) from major European airports. Upon your arrival, transportation will be waiting for you at Agadir Airport, which is a 45-minute drive southeast along the coastal road. You can also take a taxi from the airport to the surf camp or catch a bus from Agadir to Tamraght, where we can pick you up if needed.
Buses and shared taxis frequently run from Agadir, Aourir, Tamraght, and then to Taghazout. The bus from Agadir costs 7 dirhams and the shared taxi costs 10 dirhams.
From Marrakech, the only direct connection to Tamraght is a shuttle service operated by Souk to Surf. The journey takes about 4 hours in comfortable, air-conditioned vehicles. There are several pickup points in Marrakech (including the medina and the airport). The price is €20 per person. The same company also operates from Essaouira, with the journey taking 3 hours and costing €15, and from Imsouane for €10.
This direct transfer is safe, modern, and runs with comfortable minibusses. It’s a bit more expensive than an ordinary bus but much faster and more convenient. Free water and WiFi are available on board. Luggage, including surfboards, is transported for free. The friendly drivers speak good English. We also recommend CTM or Supratours.

Get around!
Around Surf Camp, you will easily find two pharmacies: one next to the Babakoul café and one up the hill next to the Sahel mosque. You will also find numerous local bakers, poultry shops, and many small grocery stores selling basic products, fruits, and vegetables. Most barbers, who provide a good haircut and shave for around 25 dirhams for a short cut, are located up the hill next to the Sahel mosque.
Beaches in tamraght
The beaches are excellent, and the water is really clean. Renting a sunbed costs 20 dirhams per day. You can choose from different sandy beach spots where you can relax, swim, and surf safely in Tamraght. Directly on the beach, there are a few kiosks selling drinks and snacks, as well as seafood and tagine restaurants. Camel and horse rides are also available.
There are 4 surf spots in the village:
Banana: Another quality right-hand point break, but much more forgiving than the points further north. It’s ideal for intermediate surfers and for those looking to surf a point break for the first time. With a big swell, it can also offer challenging sections for advanced surfers.
Spider: Its fast reef break and hollow peak produce an A-frame barrel that tears and shreds, suitable only for advanced surfers.
Devils Rock: Another point break over a sandy bottom, this wave offers a variety of sections and conditions for all levels of surfers and can also be tackled by beginners.
Crocro: The first surf spot accessible on foot from the village, Crocro is one of the most consistent waves in the area. This beach break is an ideal spot to learn to surf in Tamraght.
To go to eat! in tamraght
There are restaurants and cafes serving local Moroccan dishes as well as international cuisine. The prices are low, the food is fresh and the atmosphere is great. Near the beach there are a few restaurants specialising in fish and tagine.
Brahims at Devil’s Rock serves excellent seafood and is a popular restaurant with locals, especially on weekends. Sanabil Restaurant with super delicious traditional food at good prices.
